Position Details

Homecare Specialist provides thorough support, training and guidance to both Homecare Aide and assisting Homecare clients when needed, in addition to providing support to the Homecare program administrative team.



  • Providing non-medical tasks to clients which are outlined in the client care plan;
  • Serving as a guide as well as actively assisting Homecare Aide when dealing with various clients such as personal care, bathing, toileting, dressing, transfers, ambulation and positioning;
  • Facilitating and ensuring when necessary that lines of communication are maintained between client, client’s homecare assistant and Homecare Supervisor;   
  • Effectively and expediently communicated client changes to Homecare Supervisors;
  • Serves as a on-site problem-solver with both the homecare assistant and client;
  • Functions as an all inclusive reporter to the Homecare Administration;
  • Participates in team meetings to discuss client and program issues;
  • Assisting with clerical tasks such as payroll entry, filing, orientations, processing various types of applications, contacting both clients and homecare assistants as needed;
  • Knowledgeable on all homecare training procedures and various tool usage;
  • Having the ability to think rationally and seek further instruction from Homecare Supervisors when in the field;
  • Must keep all client information confidential;
  • Able to read, write, understand directions and communicate fluently in English;
  • Follows and abides by the established agency’s policies and procedures;



  • Complete projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor;
  • The ability to prioritize projects needing to be completed in a timely manner;
  • Availability to be reached and respond quickly to client emergencies;


Physical Requirements Needed to perform the Duties of the job:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs;
  • Must be able to travel intermittently throughout the day;
  • Have the ability to provide physical support for client activities such as walking, transferring and bathing;


Educational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • A minimum of one (1) year of professional work experience;
  • Must have completed all required necessary State Statutory training certifications;
